I would like to see a system function or a sailfish app for privacy enhancements regarding "silent short messages"/"stealth pings" and IMSI catcher. For Android there is an app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.srlabs.snoopsnitch) to reveal such surveillance. It would be nice to have such possibilities in Sailfish as well.

My suggestion is to have a status info if stealth pings are detected or strange cell tower ids are found. You can find some more details in this German article: http://www.heise.de/security/meldung/31C3-App-gegen-IMSI-Catcher-und-stille-SMS-2506899.html

Great idea - note that the Android app only works with selected phones (featuring a specific Qualcomm baseband) though. The app basically exploits some debug commands of the Qualcomm modem, so it's not clear whether Jolla can provide the same functionality for their own baseband.

Also, the actual talk at the Congress the "snoopsnitch" app was presented in is in english: http://media.ccc.de/browse/congress/2014/31c3_-_6249_-_en_-_saal_1_-_201412271715_-_ss7_locate_track_manipulate_-_tobias_engel.html

I complete support this idea. It would be a great idea. Enhancing Jolla with privacy & security solutions, would make the product more attractive also for those users that really care about these issues. Jolla is one of the few alternatives to Google and Apple products, which cannot be really reliable for privacy concerns (due to US laws). Therefore, it could help to make Jolla as a more appealing product!
