Hi! What about native storage managenent? I.e. option in settings, where user can:

  1. See storage and SD info;
  2. Format/rename/re-part SD-card;
  3. Choose, where Sailfish should install apps, keep android storage, videos, music, pictures, contacts, downloads etc. as different options!

I think that's will be awesome!

1 and 2 are ok, but app can't be installed in different location, because there are no optify.

@coderus, that is not a big obstacle. The OS could do the "optification"*) on the fly. Not that I see much point: SD cards are by definition removable but the applications are not. They depend of config settings and other installed packages and libraries. Also the card would have to be formatted in something other than FAT.

An option to save downloads, email attachments and camera pictures to SD would be nice, but there is already a request for that.

what are you talking about? os CAN'T do optify on the fly, only at compile time.

"Optification" is a term made up for Maemo and used to get around the small root space and means nothing more than moving the large files out of the root partition to a large partition ("/opt" on Maemo) and replacing the original with symlinks to the new location.

If set up to do so, the OS can easily doi that on the fly. However I do not see the point on Jolla.
