Why is my E-mail downloading images automatically to my Gallery? [duplicate]
Hi I noticed that when i open an e-Mail with some photos attached they automatically download in my gallery in the Photos Folder but I don't want to have them there! Why is my e-Mail downloading all the photos from the read messages to my gallery?
mail attachments are stored in /home/nemo/Downloads/mail_attachments. if you don't want to see them in your gallery, created a file '.nomedia' in that folder. after next run of tracker, they will not be visible in gallery anymore

won't that just create a hidden folder where the content will nevertheless be downloaded to a certain moment when the memomy space gets full? if so that is not a solution. then it should be some kind of temp folder and the data gets frequently cleaned...
Dragomir ( 2015-01-14 01:38:23 +0300 )editthat creates only a hidden file, preventing the folder from being indexed.
rudi ( 2015-01-14 01:45:21 +0300 )editthe folder is created/used by the mail program - I never checked, how housekeeping works there. but (I hope) the files will be deleted, if the corresponding mail will be deleted
but this is another question ;-)
