This morning my Jolla greeted me with some strange phenomenons. I did not do anything unusal or disrupting to it before, just picked it up in the morning as usual. So:

  1. Switching ambiences stopped working. I always got back the one (dark and quiet) I use for the evenings.
  2. Switching keyboard layouts stopped working, the old one popped back every time.

Then, annoyed as hell, I rebooted it. Then came the surprise!

  1. It forgot all the ambiences except for the stock ones. All my favourites and ordinary ambiences were gone, luckily I could pick them again from the photos.

I know this is not a usable bug report (I'm a Unix/Linux system engineer), I'd just wanted to delegate my frustration. :D

Seriously speaking: I don't have any ideas what could go wrong. Maybe something's fishy around the ambience handling, but this still does not explain the keyboad bug. Maybe it's a memory leak somewhere else, which has a negative effect on other subsystems.

I had the keyboard switching problem as well after the update. It soon disappeared and I have no clue how. Also my ambiances never get saved. They have always disappeared after reboot, I don't know why you had them before the update.

Bingo, that seemed to be the problem. I saved my photos, music, videos, did a btrfs balance and now it seems ok, and also probably faster. Thanks for the suggestion.

What is absolutely not ok that Jolla chose to use btrfs. This a crap, to say the least. Let me rephrase the old proverb, slightly modified:

Those who cannot understand ZFS are doomed to reinvent it, poorly.

Sigh. Sailfish OS will NEVER become any kind of mainstream^Wwidespread if this bug/filesytem stays. This is definitely not for basic users.
