please add ICQ to the account list
It would be nice if the ICQ protocoll could be added to the account list, as it was done with XMPP.
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.
It would be nice if the ICQ protocoll could be added to the account list, as it was done with XMPP.
There is now ICQ support with a 3rd party app on openrepos.net https://openrepos.net/content/coderus/icq-account
without 3rd party app:
devel-su
pkcon install telepathy-haze
libpurple should be installed automaticaly exit devel-su
mc-tool add haze/icq visible-account-name string:account=yourICQnumber string:password=yourICQpassword
mc-tool list
mc-tool summary
mc-tool enable haze/icq/_yourICQnumber (note: you can copy account path from mc-tool list)
mc-tool auto-connect haze/icq/_yourICQnumber on|off
mc-tool auto-presence haze/icq/_yourICQnumber <presence status> [<message>]
presence status: online,hidden...
visible-account-name: you will see this name in presence status and so

that would be nice, for new Nemos, its working like charm (libpurble telepathy-haze installed) account setup in terminal via mc-tool for protocol haze/icq in minute, btw icq needs new presence status in UI - Hidden (invisible)
pan tau ( 2015-01-30 02:15:46 +0300 )editWhat's the point? I mean, I've added an XMPP account to the account list, but I might as well have written it on a sheet of paper. It does nothing, there's no XMPP chat functionality, and I guess ICQ is even lower on the todo list.
zilti ( 2015-01-30 02:50:48 +0300 )edit@zilti: "It does nothing, there's no XMPP chat functionality"
It works, but: you currently can't add contacts on the phone, you will need to log in on your computer for example and add contacts there, then they will show up on the phone. It's also not possible to use MUC/conferences, no OTR, no file transfer, etc. But, the very basics at least work.
nthn ( 2015-01-30 22:21:57 +0300 )editi dont know why this turned to xmpp functionality, but he asked about UI for adding icq account, i mentioned that for now there is easy (only one) way in terminal how to add, enable , set status, disable icq. then you will see your icq account as controlled service in Presence status. i have to use icq chat very often and i dont need to add new contacs atm, so functionality for chatting is well perfect, never noticed any problem while leaving Wlan, like i had with previous messanger in nokia and had to reconnect manualy :) so i am happy jolla user :D
pan tau ( 2015-01-31 01:33:34 +0300 )edit@all: yes full chat functionality would be nice, but for me as almost for everyone I suggest, ICQ is outdated, but there are still some single contacts which only have icq which i want to keep into contact with.
