I would like to be able to set a periodic short vibration to a notification as long as it has not been acknowledged. It could be limited to call/sms notifications, since such a feature would not make sense for email or facebook notifications.

Sometimes it happens that I missed a call with the phone in my pocket where the ringtone could not be heard because of the speaker being covered (see suggestion here). As I was moving I could not sense vibration either. A simultaneous short vibration buzz every, say 3 to 5s would have helped.

Note that the vibration generally consumes quite a bit of energy, so it could possibly drain the battery quite fast it you keep it running until the notification is acknowledged (even if it's a short 'buzz' every 3-5 s)

It could be possible by editing ngfd config files (/usr/share/ngfd) as a first approach (thanks to hints from this thread).

I will try and update on progress, also keeping an eye on battery drain when I get it working.

Best solution would be to have a GUI to manage those settings as suggested here.
