If possible, I'd like to see an option to flag a comment as offensive, as can be done for questions and answers. Name and shame, six examples of recent comments that are particularly offensive, made by people who seem to be unable to hold a discussion without resorting to insults as an excuse for not having any arguments:

@aegis: "@juiceme awesome! Nice to see there are some people in the community that aren't ideological fuckwits!" (https://together.jolla.com/question/79185/alternative-exfat-open-source-code/?comment=80100#comment-80100)

@aegis: "I'd give up morpog, the lunatics have taken over the asylum." (https://together.jolla.com/question/79031/support-exfat-sdxc-in-jolla-tablet/?comment=79110#comment-79110)

@pichlo: "@aegis is right. No point talking sense to religious fanatics who are always right by definition. I'm out of here too." (https://together.jolla.com/question/79031/support-exfat-sdxc-in-jolla-tablet/?comment=79723#comment-79723)

@MSH: "This is why entering also mainstream market is so important, no matter how much it dents the ego of always so self-righteous foss-communities." (https://together.jolla.com/question/79031/support-exfat-sdxc-in-jolla-tablet/?comment=79331#comment-79331)

@aegis: "Getting abuse from clueless linux fanatics who can't see anything past their own narrow usage doesn't help either." (https://together.jolla.com/question/79031/support-exfat-sdxc-in-jolla-tablet/?comment=79472#comment-79472)

@aegis: "ok. out of here. It's like debating with born again christians. Good luck Jolla." (https://together.jolla.com/question/79031/support-exfat-sdxc-in-jolla-tablet/?comment=79674#comment-79674)

There is a huge difference between telling someone that their idea is stupid, and telling them they're fuckwits, retards, lunatics, children, whatever. The former is criticism (whether it is valid and well-funded or not), the latter is a fallacy, not particularly healthy for a discussion and also quite pathetic. (Strangely these people also all claim they have given up, they will leave the discussion, ..., yet they keep returning to the comments to post more abusive messages.)

I think that the first example is actually quite nice!

I am told that I am not a fuckwit which is always a pleasure to hear :)

I followed the debate on that thread (and personally found it quite hilarious at some points), and I didn't see anything that offensive. Of course when you pull a sentence out of context it can seem a bit coarse. But about the flagging, if answers can be flagged, then why not comments too.

Is it supposed to be a Askbot feature?

I second the request. A few more examples to support it:

@rcolistete: "...typical of people without arguments." (https://together.jolla.com/question/79031/support-exfat-sdxc-in-jolla-tablet/?comment=79727#comment-79727)

@rcolistete: "I will not stay out of any discussion due to some non-educated, non-polite people like you..." (https://together.jolla.com/question/79031/support-exfat-sdxc-in-jolla-tablet/?comment=79733#comment-79733)

@jjaone: "Seems to me that this thread is just for @avhakola, @pichlo and @aegis to trash this community..." (https://together.jolla.com/question/79031/support-exfat-sdxc-in-jolla-tablet/?comment=79750#comment-79750)
