a couple times now i found old threads about the exact same bugs that i wanted to report. these threads are sometimes over 1 year old (including the last comment), but the bug is still not fixed. or i case of a simple request - like opening textfiles in documents - the feature is still not implemented.

now, how can i make this thing talked about again? i can only bump by posting an answer - but i dont have one. i should not open a duplicate. so what to do?

I've got exactly the same problem. I think the topics should be bumped with a comment.

If you want to talk about an issue, post a comment on it, all the people following it will be notified. I don't think it should bump the topic, those interested in the bug/feature are able to search for it.

And upping a topic will not make it prioritized faster. Jolla has already its planning full for 5 years ^^. The best example was with the missing voicemail notifications: the topic has been upped every month or so during the last year and Jolla didn't dedicated a resource on it, even if it's the most basic feature on a phone (after being able to make a call).

@MacManus a comment is exactly the right thing to do, all involved will get a notification but it does not make it a page-one item again.

But if a year-old bug has reportedly been fixed soon afterwards a year back, will the people still be following the question?

Example: There's this bug of ics files "correcting" the time to GMT: https://together.jolla.com/question/96337/all-day-events-from-ics-file-are-off-by-two-hours/

It seems to be bagged and tagged about a year back and should be all good, but now I got the Calendar app doing pretty much the same thing on my Jolla 1 whilst on my Aqua Fish everything works as they should even though both devices are 2.0.5.6 (details commented into the thread).

Should I expect the information reaches the bug fixers this way? It's a one-time deal for me and I have recovered from it already so it's not too big a deal for me anymore, but the code may still be carrying a hiccup that may effect on others.

Just vote, comment or provide answers to topics and questions the awareness of which you want to rise. That's IMO what most here are doing. Old topics are easy to see and find by selecting appropriate search criteria when browsing the forum with web-browser or native Together client app in Jolla phones. Bumping topics by making fake edits etc feels somehow not fair.

Yes sure, but fake edit's that add nothing substantial and/or are done just to change the timestamp are not ok.

If you do that repeatedly the question gets closed. If you create a new question with similar content. it gets closed as redundant and any Karma you get with it is removed. Both happened to me.

Bugs are tracked. So a comment with your findings will have everyone involved notified - it is not necessary to make it a page-one item to get attention from the right people. So please do not try to bump them up, that is not how it works...

There's the "tracked by Jolla" banner, but in the absence of that, how is the bug reporter to now the bug is actually tracked?

And you got a reply by a Jolla employee... so what is the point? Askbot is notifying everyone and people assigned are looking for bug-reports on tjc, reply to it and even get in direct contact with users if it is hard to reproduce.
