Currently, silence sounds does not mute media, i.e., playing music tracks from Media app or Videos from gallery. Maybe this is by design, but there should be an option to mute media sounds as well.
Often it happens that I receive some funny video while am in Office and want to play it on mute. At least Videos played in gallery should have this option. Every Android app has this option.

At the moment you can only use the volume rocker to mute the media sound and manually turning it up again after muting is not needed. This is not a solution, but the way we have to do it at the moment. So a quick mute/unmute for media volume would be nice indeed.
Yeah, at the moment, no way other than changing the volume buttons.
