Security fixes

CVE-2013-6393 CVE-2013-6435 CVE-2013-7353 CVE-2013-7354 CVE-2014-2525 CVE-2014-3707 CVE-2014-7824 CVE-2014-8104 CVE-2014-8139 CVE-2014-8140 CVE-2014-8141 CVE-2014-8767 CVE-2014-8768 CVE-2014-8769 CVE-2014-8964 CVE-2014-9112 CVE-2014-9130 CVE-2014-9140 CVE-2014-9293 CVE-2014-9294 CVE-2014-9295

It also contains a fix for an issue in SailfishOS, details will be disclosed after rolling out this update to everyone.

Known issues

OS update process

  • Currently, checks on available disk space happens very late during the OS upgrade process and will fail in the installation phase if the disk space is low. Normally there should be an error note asking you to free some disk space and try again, but in some marginal cases it might not be shown. Should this happen, free some disk space and try to install the OS update again.
  • OS update may fail due to some other reasons too, for example it may have installed some packages from the new release and still have something left from the old. If the device can boot up, you can try to recover by doing the following. If not, you can attempt to recover the device using the recovery mode.
    • Delete the file /home/nemo/.cache/store-client/os-info
    • Stop the store-client process (for e.g. pkill store-client)
    • Reopen Settings app, check for updates again and attempt to install the OS update again
  • We have also noted that if the OS update is attempted while there is long queue of installation of apps from the Store, the system may end up in mixed state (for e.g. select all the apps from startup wizard, and start the system update already while the apps are being installed).
    • In such cases, the OS update appears to be stalled, however it is just waiting for the installations to complete before attempting to upgrade the OS. Just wait patiently, the worst thing to do here is to reboot the device!

Other issues ##

  • Sometimes Messages and Phone app show black active covers.
  • calDAV and cardDAV services are in experimental stage. We have made some improvements with this update, however you may still face issues with certain service providers. Do report it in t.j.c. We'll take a look and try to sort it out.
  • Deleting photo from Camera roll may also delete the previous photo. If camera reel's pulley menu has "Show details" greyed out - means the photo hasn't been indexed yet. Deleting photo in such state will result in previous photo deleted too. If you wait long enough (~10-15seconds) for 'Show details' to become active, only that photo will get deleted when you choose to.

Update went fine, now using actively since last Friday. So far only alarming thing I have encountered is the browser, which seems to be quite unstable. I doubt it's the OOM-killer since other apps stay at the background but many times opening new tabs from links crash the browser. You should be able to reproduce it by spending some time at website, opening links and closing tabs. Sometimes it works for some time before crashing, some times it will crash o first link opened. If possible, it might be a good idea to look into it before public availability.

seems okey, new browser UI is decent, but the browser is laggy, and seems to consume a load of battery when using.

@Nieldk sorry

installation failed several times (all openrepos repositories disabled, enough freespace available)
after deinstallation of clamav (openrepos), installation succeeded

deinstallation was only possible via 'rpm -e --noscripts clamav' (as root), was not possible via warehouse

same behaviour while updating from to

@Nieldk , have you had any success?

TheOwlEye ( 2015-02-20 14:43:55 +0300 )edit

I have now updated two devuces. Both with clamav. Neither of them had troubles updating. Actually, update to and then to is the first time ever I didnt have any issues. Will look into clamav, but hard to debug When no faults on my devices.

Why don't you comment about features related to 1.1.2?

Custom color picking for an ambiance is great. But how can I switch to the default color taken from the image? And I can only pick a custom color if the ambiance is a favorite.

The sync interval for my Caldav account was set to manual after update. For my Cardav contacts I see 2 cardav entries in the contact linkage page. Is that a problem?

edit flag offensive delete publish link more

Oh and it also synced a Facebook name of a linked contanct to the cardav server

Sören ( 2015-02-20 08:57:42 +0300 )edit

And phone numbers are doubled. One time as "Personal | Telephone" or as "Business | Telephone" again as "Personal | Language" and " Personal | Language" and I cannot edit them on the phone. I'll try to setup Caldav up again

Sören ( 2015-02-20 09:04:05 +0300 )edit

Ok, if I delete the Cardav account I can still see the Cardav contacts. In the linkage page I don't see double entries and also double phone numbers are gone. But how to proceed now?!

Sören ( 2015-02-20 09:11:09 +0300 )edit

OK, after deleting the Cardav account I had to delete all contacts manually. Then I did a new setup of the Cardav account and voila all good.

Yesterday I upgraded to 1.1.2.
Today I was reading news with tt-rss application during my bus journey.
Suddenly while scrolling up to see a picture my Jolla rebooted (never happened with that app). The only significant detail of that situation I can think of is that it happened in a point of the trip where the Jolla re-gains GSM connectivity after a road stretch where it has no mobile coverage.

Update: In /var/log/systemboot.log I see at the time of reboot the following:

Startup: pwr_on_status=pwr_on_by_HW_SMPL

SMPL stands for Sudden Momentary Power Loss, so probably the power regulator at the time of issue detected a dip in the power voltage and it rebooted the device.

My device is otherwise pretty stable (never had any spurious reboots in its ~14 months life) and battery was fully loaded, so I can only assume that the issue was caused by a temporary peak current consumption due to 3G + internet reconnection.

Unless U11 has changed the thresholds for detecting SMPL status, I don't thing my case is actually related to the upgrade.

I'll post this in correct question, too, but I had recurring mysterious reboots again. I had forgotten to put a piece of paper in order to push battery more strongly against the connectors, so that caused voltage drops under high load situations, and reboots. I know this sounds kinda wishful thinking, but could you try that? EDIT: Is it reproducible?

Just had an issue with sim-card, see this post: Sim card connection to phone lost

I have never had this issue before, and my phone was just laying on the table, I tapped the screen to wake up the device and when I swiped up, I got the same message as in the above post. After a few seconds (5-10 maybe) the mobile data connection was reset (notification on top saying connected).

EDIT: I did not press either of the options, the data connection was reset on it's own. After I saw the notification of the data connection, I pressed restart later.

EDIT - 2015.02.23: The data connection seems a bit unstable all in all. I have wi-fi turned off, bluetooth on and connected to an external speaker. Just tapped the screen to wake the phone up, swiped from bottom for notifications and opened Viber -> data connection lost for a few seconds and connected automagically again.

EDIT: Same thing happened as before, while waking up the phone and opening the lock screen to enter the security code, data connection was reset.
