All my images and videos disappeared! All except the Jolla stock photos, that is. Fortunately I got them from the backups.

Someone pointed out that they might not have disappeared, but that the DB might have gotten confused. That's probably true, albeit speculative.

Hope you figure this out, it could freak out a lot of people; it sure freaked me ;)

All fine here. Upgraded, rebooted and all my ~300 pictures, images, videos and ~2'000 music items were still there.

mine is fine, I guess you have to wait a bit more for any background indexing to finish?

Did you actually check (using the terminal or CargoDock etc) that the pics were not there? Usually after upgrade you need let tracker some time to (re)index it's backend..As an early-access adopter you ahould know all this instead of making false bug reports.

There's an option to refreh the media database via Utilities app by Jolla. I don't know whether it helps or not but anyone facing the similiar issue might want to give it a try. Take a look at this: https://together.jolla.com/question/4337/refresh-tracker/

That trackerd needs a slight hit in the face from time to time is a known issue for >12months now... that it all for a sudden forgets everything on an upgrade... oh wait it is a RC... is unfortunate and you should be able to recover some standard issues yourself when joining an early access group... ;) heart attacks should be taken seriously, did you see a doctor yet?

Just putting this out there, didn't know it's an old issue. Maybe it'll be fixed some day ;)

In addition to taking backups, I should seriously look into buying a defibrillator off Amazon...

I would not buy it from amazon... lots of Chinese resellers lately! - You may have duplicates when you move large chunks of pictures/mp3s around too as tracker does not forget the files that you just moved away but recognized the new ones already...
