For me the functionality of the weather app is a bit confusing (maybe because of early stage) and a little language bug:

  • click weather on events overview
  • you can see all the weather stuff (still in events overview, right?)
  • pulley: more information opens browser (ok): Typo in german: Mehr Infromationen -> Mehr Informationen!!
  • pulley: open app: Now leaving events overview and start the app which has way less functionality than in events overview
  • cover with one button (!) which changes direction when on end of the location list.

So for the real app I now expect some crazy functionality for the future because I can see nearly all about my weather in place with the events overview allready and for the app I do not know the meaning.

looks Like two misspellings

  • Mehr Informationen (Mehr Infromationen)
  • Öffne App (Öffne app) personally I prefer Öffne Applikation

I never even realized I could click on the weather thing in events view, very confusing

if i change location for weather from home screen, default (current location) weather is in notifications, becouse it is only for default location, wich is maybe confusing too,

there should be option what to show in notifications, -- first to correspond in notifications with home screen - name it selected weather, -- or show current location only

Also changing the location is a bit confusing... is there no way to do it directly from the event view? (swiping left or right would be awesome!). It seems now that one has to open the app and change the current location there.

As much as I love the fact Jolla did this, Meecast has more features in it, like viewing the weather at different times.

... Also glad to see I'm not the only one confused by this generally.

The Weather-App and the events-view are two different things but still the same.

  • App has cover, overview (plus pulley to add new locations and you can remove locations), details
  • events-view has primary location + primary location's details only

For your questions:

  • pulley, open app: is exactly the same but you are within the app it has exactly the same functionality
  • Cover is not the end of the location list, there is a primary and a secondary view, primary is one location with the logo on the bottom and secondary are all others as list which starts scrolling after the 5th entry.

@chemist: Sorry for the cover stuff: I had only two locations inserted and expected the behavior I wrote. Now I have six in it and the cover button makes sense.

I did not recognize this at first too ;)

The typos in the German translations have been fixed and will be released shortly. Thank you!

I would recommend you to try MeeCast. At least for me its the better UI at the moment. Also there are additions for a widget and a daemon service if you like.

Furthermore I like to point you to my answer for "meteo app: improvements" which is another discussion about the weather app: https://together.jolla.com/question/85490/meteo-app-improvements/?answer=85568#post-id-85568 If you agree with the notes from the OP and myself please vote that up too.
