Does anyone know how to disable this weather app notification in event view? i don't care about this and don't understand why Jolla put some much effort on such a non-essential feature (at least, for me).

It take a lot of space in eventview and is very annoying to always see this message for a feature that i don't need/want.

Best regards

EDIT: It seems, following LVPVS comment that i have to specify that i did not install the app, i am talking about the notification which tells you to click on it to install the app. Which i will not do as i do not want/need it

I think this should be made a feature request. At least I like to have the weather info on the notifications (and I'm guessing there are others too).

A simple solution would be to add to the weather settings:

Settings - Apps - Weather - Show weather info (Or something)

Hej,

What about uninstalling the app? O_o

LVPVS out.

IMHO if you don't like the notification, install MeeCast. :)

its fine, i believe that notifications are at right place to show permanent weather info i agree that it could be as option, to keep users freedom, as in future there could be currency notification, so instead of weather i will chose currency for that place, maybe both....

@pan tau I agree with you and this made me wonder what else useful information could be available, for instance notifications of selected places/venues nearby from the Maps. Hopefully Jolla doesn't stop just informing us that is it raining or not, but utilise this more. :) I would really see some benefits for short local info when travelling, not necessarily abroad, but to a different city in the country you live. :)

Just long press the notification and swipe to the "No Thanks" label.

Obviously, it's the second thing I tried after "Clear notifications". Looks like not only advanced users registered for the early update :P

What a great comment sthocs is able to provide, so helpfull! So valuable!

But, thanks a lot g7! I would never have though about this, i didn't even knew (nor imagined :) ) that we can long press on event view.

Yes, I agree that this method to dismiss this particular notification is not that intuitive. Perhaps it would be better to simply hide it after the notification has been clicked once.

g7 ( 2015-02-20 16:30:56 +0300 )edit

Definitely. You could argue it's consistent, but not intuitive in the context of notifications since there's no interaction otherwise, only tap or clear notifications.

I wonder how many people can't get rid of that notification.

All notifications have a context menu.
