Will Jolla Tablet be good for note-taking (i.e. lecture in classroom setting)? Or is this not one of its strong features?

I read that the Jolla Tablet will not be receiving stylus support or the implementation of a digital stylus. Please clarify if I have read this wrong.

In any case, will the Jolla Tablet provide good functionality for note-taking or is this not one of the strong points of the Jolla Tablet?

  • Easy to take notes? (How? Am I going to use my fingers for taking notes? Or is there a mini keyboard attachment?)
  • Printable notes?
  • Compatible with some kind of office software (Word doc, pdf, etc.)?

I am new to the tablet market and have never had the experience of fully using a tablet before. Jolla Tablet caught my eye with its appealing design and reasonable price, but nonetheless if it's missing the functionality I need most, I'd have to consider other alternatives. Thank you for whoever takes the time to read and reply to this.

Yes, please, make Jolla a tool to be productive! Make Jolla a tool for creating and editing documents, graphics ... (A stylus and a good keyboard (with arrow keys) would be very welcome. And an easier access to linux software similar to easy debian on the N900 for running OpenOffice or LibreOffice and other stuff would be very nice)

An App similar to "Notability" or "GoodNotes" for IPad in which you can organize, edit and add notes to PDF files would be a great start. It's the only reason I am using an Ipad for my university stuff atm. If the Jolla Tablet is available with this ability right from the start (without having to use Android apps) it would be a real reason for me to use the Jolla tablet instead.

There was a feature request for active stylus support which Jolla did not want to implement.

Interestingly, one of Jolla's newsletters mentioned a proof-of-concept implementation for one of the "semi-active" (i.e., Bluetooth LE) styli. However, the app never made it to harbour AFAIK.

There is also a feature request for handwriting recognition.

It seems to me that at the current stage the best we can hope for is passive or semi-active stylus support and, for starters, using Alien to run something like LectureNotes on the tab. Sorry.

A stylus like this or like this would be great… and the retouching, drawing and writing applications to go with it! :-)
