As I stated in this question: https://together.jolla.com/question/62146/silent-mode-activates-on-its-own/

I find I silence my phone involuntarily now and then. either due to missing a pushdown menu item and not noticing, or some pocket activation.

Since I rarely need to put my phone in silent mode, I would like to be able to customize the "quick actions" menu so that I can also remove the "silence" item, in addiotion to customizing the other items.

Edit: I am not sure this question will be relevant, with the release of SailfishOS 2, since the pulldown menu is replaced with an ambience selector, with a silent ambience. That should be harder to trigger by mistake, and easier to spot, as a glance to the screen, in any situatiob will reveal the silent mode is selected.

As I think the question should focus on a single aspect that can be discussed on its own, but I also have an alternative suggestion, I will state it here:

Maybe a "silent ambience" couold be installed so that the user can still quickly switch to silent mode with fewer chances to activate it by mistake, and a clearer indication that the phone is in silent mode, like, say a sleeping person, or a night sky.

If it is removed, then it should be able to be put back - this is one of the most used features for me. I always turn my phone silent from the pulley menu and do not want to lose this feature!

<off-topic>But I think in general the pulley menu should be re-designed, or at least ability add the favourites from the settings to either to the lock screen or to the pulley menu.</off-topic>

@raketti - I do not have any objection about being able to add it back! :)

Of course, it should be possible to restore the default behavior.

@mikelima I thought so too - maybe substitute remove with replace in the question? :) But I agree with you, it feels silly to have one hard coded option, why not have 3 - 5 pulley options that you can freely choose. Because the pulley menu options are easy to add, this shouldn't be a big problem. I have a feeling though, that there is one hard coded option to keep the pulley menu there at all times. If you remove all items, I don't know how the menu would behave.

@raketti - Well, replacing is fine too. My point is that it is possible to remove or replace all the items except the "silence" one. Actually, my first try at avoiding accidental activation was to try to move it further up in the menu list, so that the first item would be innocuous (say "camera"). But that is not possible either.
