How can I cancel an OS update after download (before installation)?

I downloaded the EA update for Yilaavanlampi, but did not install it (intentionally). Settings confirm my version is still Vaarainjärvi. As mentioned in another thread, I am no longer able to access Jolla Store. Also I am not sure whether the phone will check for new updates as long as it is in this state in which it thinks an update is already in progress.
So, is there any way to tell the system that it is not being updated? E.g. by deleting the downloaded update somewhere from the file system? After all, the only thing I did so far was to select a menu item called "Download update", not "Start update process" or similar.
Any hints are very much appreciated, I need to access the Store.
