Has it ever been put into consideration to make the jolla tablet also a smartphone? Like the Huawei Mediapad. Not everybody would want to use it as such but it would be nice for all of us who as of right now don't have the Jolla phone available to purchase.

There's no 2G/3G/4G on the tablet.

I think it was mentioned about being "considered" because of the amount of votes for a mobile connection.

2/3/4G support for the tablet was a stretch goal in the original indiegogo campaign, but this goal wasn't reached.

Guys, don't loose hope just yet. I don't know if they have already finalized the HW specs. A thought just crossed my mind when readin news from the MWC2015:

Antti Saarnio, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Jolla -- We are also very happy to work with Intel in planning for the Intel Atom x3 processor support for Sailfish OS."

"Intel Atom x3 processor is Intel's first integrated communications platform for tablets, phablets and smartphones, combining 64-bit multi-core Intel Atom application processors together with 3G or 4G LTE connectivity. We are excited to work with Jolla to bring their next Sailfish OS to Intel's new integrated platform."

Ok, I know this is far fetched, and I don't know the situation in Intel regarding the x3 processors, so maybe this is for the next Jolla product. But hey! We can always hope! :)

Nice! Thanks for the pick me up. That is a very good point about the intel processor and it's potential. We can always hope!
