It's been a few releases now (at least since u9), my phone never check automatically for OS updates. I previously had the "Check for updates" setting set as "WLAN only", and when I went to install version 1.1.2.15, it was written:

Last checked: 2 months ago

Since I've installed 1.1.2.15, I've set the setting to "Always" to see if it makes a difference (my phone is connected to Wifi and mobile data everyday), and today my phone says:

Last checked: 13 days ago

It's not a big issue for me since I'm actively following Jolla, but if you want me to check some logs or anything else, let me know!

Edit (by jaine):

On version 1.1.6.27 automatic and manual updates have both stopped working. When trying to invoke the check manually, journalctl -f shows this:

Aug 25 11:17:16 Jolla [5643]: [D] JollaStore::slotOsUpdateVersionReceived:770 - void JollaStore::slotOsUpdateVersionReceived(Store::Application::ConstPtr, bool) "1.1.7.27" "1.1.6.27"
Aug 25 11:17:16 Jolla [5643]: [D] JollaStore::slotOsUpdateVersionReceived:774 - -- new OS version found!

But even still the phone just says "Checking for updates..." and nothing happens.

Did you use this device actively? Or was it mostly idle during that time?

Yes it's my main phone, connected to Wifi and mobile data everyday.

I have got the same problem, but also my phone won't do the update check manually either.

Oh, that's a lot more embarrassing :/ Just to follow up on my issue, my phone now check for updates from time to time. For example, I've just got notified yesterday about the 1.1.7.27, released on 11 days before. I'll try to look how often it does the check.

This is quite annoying, because when I try to invoke the check manually, I see in journalctl -f this:

Aug 25 11:17:16 Jolla [5643]: [D] JollaStore::slotOsUpdateVersionReceived:770 - void JollaStore::slotOsUpdateVersionReceived(Store::Application::ConstPtr, bool) "1.1.7.27" "1.1.6.27"
Aug 25 11:17:16 Jolla [5643]: [D] JollaStore::slotOsUpdateVersionReceived:774 - -- new OS version found!

But even still the phone just says "Checking for updates..." and nothing happens. Any ideas with this?

Confirming this bug. It looks like this "automatic" checking for updates is performed only when one opens the Jolla store. Anyway, this question is a duplicate of https://together.jolla.com/question/52508/bug-jolla-not-checking-for-updates-regularly/. Please vote and comment there.

No it's not, as the title says, his phone doesn't check for updates regularly. If you read the post, the max he got was "2 days ago". My phone is not checking for updates at all.

Oh and I've opened the Jolla store many time since 4 months (almost once a day). For him, visiting the store seems to perform the check.

Sorry, seemed like a duplicate to me :)
