Hi sailors,

iam using my phone for about a year now and I LOVE IT! But Seeing now Videos of the "almost" final Version of SF 2.0 makes wonder how many steps the jolla Team goes backwards UI-wise. Iam left-handed (like Dillon (??)) and the actual state of the UI is perfect for a user like me. I have no disadvanteges locking or unlocking.

Problem #1: Unlocking 2.0.: Double tab, then slide from RIGHT to LEFT => That is annoying for every left-hander, because you have to Stretch your thumb to get to the right side of the phone (vertical is much better in this Point!)

Sliding from LEFT to RIGHT => No solution for me. I don´t wanna see my Notification Center @first. I want to see my homescreen like everyone else, too ! This could be a Point that prevents me of using my Jolla Phone anymore => Simply makes no fun this way!

Problem #2: Locking the device. Swipe from top, then press button => how aweful is that?? Not only stretching your thumb, no you have to press a button too. This is sooo 2 steps back, even for right-handers.

Problem #3: Using the "live-tiles" (sry for my WP speech xD). Swiping those to left or right was simply awesome !! Now pressing those "tiny itsy bitsy" symbols is 10 times harder, especially when you got 6 or more smaller tiles. Hitting those is purely luck and unintiuitive, because opening the application is also a "pressing" movement.

When i saw SF 2.0 @ the MWC Demos, it was the first time, that i really didn´t like what Jolla created. And iam still sad and worried about this "once pretty cool" OS.

Please don´t bash me to death xD I really like Jolla and Sailfish but i hope there´s still someone, who reads this and discusses this in the dev-team.

Regards, Freeman

Yes, totally agree with you. Though in most parts the Saifish OS UI is neutral to left- or right-handness, there's some things to be improved. Especially when talking about future tablet and SOS 2.0. Please, join the discussion with your ideas here:

yes, i am left handed also, though i dont really have any problems like above with sailfishos2.0 from whst ive seen except for problem 3. the swipe on live tiles i think works really well,

i hope you put an option in settings so we can choose between buttons and swipe. i like the feedback u get from swipe actions on live tiles.

Can sign that, even though that new users need a way to transition from android or iOS to SFOS there is for sure another way than to cripple the OS like shown in the demo, even with options for configuring what the lock-screen does... and buttons freakin' buttons - thought the whole point was to not have buttons as buttons are pretty stupid on a touch device.

I am left handed, and kind of agree with point1, though there are worse things out there... But I do not see the rest of your points that bothersome. Please, use different questions for different unrelated points. Problem 2and 3 are handedness neutral, plus there are already questions about those, I think.

@Problem #1: I found tweet by Jaakko Roppola:

@Bundyo It's likely that there will be some edge swipe settings. The experience should be good for left handed people as well // @JollaHQ

Problem #2 Yeah the lock screen is a little bit stepped back and the ambience switcher must be place on the right of the home screen .

and as for the sailfish os 2.0 must be slightly modified for the usability on the phone.

and i think patched will be created by devs to patch up the sailfish os 2.0
