I know how to make and test the translation for official Jolla languages. That is easy to include the translation file to translations folder in qtcreator.

Does this work similar way to unofficial languages e.g Dutch. Only to include Dutch translations file in folder and edit also .desktop file?

How can I test how my localization works with an unofficial language.

In my Jolla in Settings-System-Language I can select from 14 different languages. I think those are Jolla supported official languages. In my question other languages are "unofficial" and "not supported"

I found a good link http://www.jollatides.com/2013/12/16/how-to-tweak-jolla-system-locale/ which helped me to test the translation of my app in Dutch.

  1. Open terminal
  2. cd /var/lib/environment/nemo/
  3. vi locale.conf
  4. edit language (in my case I changed LANG=nl_NL.utf8)
  5. reboot
