[Idea] Remove ambience pull-down

I would like you to consider removing ambience switcher pull-down/left/right gesture to free it up for some more usefull feature.

I can understand that ambience changing is a nice show-off feature with great wow-factor. But in real life one rarely changes ambiences. Or never once picked up one that suits.

And a demo of ambiences could be as easily accomplished with settings screen accessed by cover. Maybe just have cover actions switching prev/next ambience.

nah i like the ambience pull down in sailfish2 but i dont see why it shoyld replace the app close pull down. if u want to change ambience go back to the home screen, like it is now.

vote for the "dont remove close gesture" thread. Now you can always switch ambience from home, as you say this is enough

I'd stick to the current layout too but otoh if it is implemented right, eg close and lock gestures are not removed, I'd say ambiences are not that important yet, so they need a horizontal-swipe slot. Lets see what Jolla does with our feedback - if they fail to deliver an experience just as good as 1.x they gonna hit a shitstorm no (settings)umbrella can help'em

i had to disable left/right abience menu, becouse i have seen that window so often so i quit switching ambience at all, better than ambiences could be task switch, like in app from side to home, and from home to previous app, it could be fast "alt tab" replacement to double swipe from side...
