Sometimes we are waiting for an important e-mail and we have to sync manually every minute. So my suggestion: if we open mail app we see our email accounts. By long-pressing should appear an context menu which we will be able to enable synchronization every minute. This will be active till the default sync-timer is reached. What do you think?

Or you can set 'always up to date' in settings

Yes, but... than you have to disable that again and if you forget it you have a higher battery drain... In my opinion, settings are not the right place to do such a change, because it is an instant-change setting and the workaround is not needed.

General: We dont have to forget that the phone has to serve us and not the opposite.

Hei, And what if syncing was automatically set to 'push' while mail app was in the 'focus'? Once it is closed/sent to background the normal syncing schedule gets active. LVPVS out.

May be instead of an ON/OFF button for the "every minute" update of email, you could have am option for a burst of "every minute update" for the next 5 minutes and then back to normal.
