Hello together,

I just want to know if it is TECHNICALLY possible to port Sailfish OS to Geeksphone Revolution.

This article says that it is possible to port it to devices with an ARMv7 heart and that are supported to run CyanogenMod 10.1.x

My Geeksphone Revolution has an intel heart (Z2560, Atom 1,6 Ghz dualcore) and supports Cyanogen Mod 11: So, is it possible to port Sailfish OS (v1.1.2.16, Update 11, 25th February) to a device with an intel cpu?

Thank you for your answer(s) :-)

I second this. I would love to have sailfish on my Revolution. Only issue is there isn't a lot of support for the device

I hope that it is possible! Hardware requirements should be excellent for running Sailfish OS smooth on the device :-)

Generally speaking, question about porting SailfishOS to other devices, doesn't belong here on TJC. There are a few other forums where there is plenty of discussion about porting SFOS to different devices.

I would suggest either starting a thread on talk.maemo.org or better still, contacting the developer/s of Geeksphone (which I've never heard of), put simply your question doesn't belong here on TJC. Please consider closing your question and help keep TJC, tidy. Just my opinion.

Thank you for your opinion, but I don't think that the developers at Geeksphone know more about the porting process than the people here - for that reason I opened the thread here. But OK, maybe I also should contact the developers at geeksphone about my plans.

I thought that I could find here more people who can help me with that question.

Nevertheless just gimme some more time - If I don't get an answer until tomorrow I will surely close that thread :-(

As the Tablet is based on an Intel SoC - at least SailfishOS 2.x ought to be capable of being ported.

Hello you can find the Sailfish OS porters at irc freenode #sailfishos-porters. That's a better place to ask for help. Regards

Well as there is noone who can tell me if it works or not, I'll close this thread and try it by myself :-) If there is any success I will publish my work in Geeksphone's Forum.

Greetings, Bada

I don't think anyone's tried to port to an Atom device, but so long as there is a CM11 kernel source available then it's worth a shot. Doesn't take too much effort to run through the HADK and get to a stage where you'll know if the kernel is going to work or not.
