Using Outlook.com as an Exchange and 2-step enabled
I recently switched on 2-step authentication on my outlook.com acoount. I had previously set it up as a MS exchange account as I want to sync emails, contacts and calendar. Obviously the password I had previously entered did not allow the account to sync any more. So I deleted the account and tried to set it up again, with the following results:
- I 1st entered the original password expecting the phone to take me to a screen to enter the authentication code for the 2nd level. That didnt happen and hence the account could not be set up
- I started the process again, generated a app password from outlook and entered the generated password for the account. The account was created and authenticated, but Jolla does not sync mails, contact or calendar (basically nothing)
I am now not sure what to do to get it to work. I especially need the contacts to work. Does anyone have any suggestions apart from deactivating 2-step authentication for my outlook.com account?
Is this a bug / missing feature?
For me it works, when I enable 2 factor auth I simply generated an app password and updated the password on my Jolla. I didn't delete and start again. Sorry for the annoying "it works for me" post.
