Bug: WiFi does not recover from problem situations

I've noticed that I rather often have connection problems with my own WiFi at home. I regularly see the WiFi icon for
- lost / weak connection (icon with stripes)
- generic connection problem (exclamation mark)
- WiFi available, but not connected (star; I also consider this a problem situation, because my Jolla should always connect to my home WiFi automatically.)
These situations sometimes occur after I get home: After a while I check my phone and notice it hasn't checked e-mails in an hour, because the WiFi connection has been having a problem all along. (And the mobile data connection has not been used, even though it would be available...) Other times the problem starts because of a real problematic R/F situation, for example if I go to the room farthest away from the WiFi station and someone close to the station starts to use the WiFi heavily.
But my point here is that my Jolla does not ever recover from these problems by itself even though it is in range again and no actual R/F problems are present anymore. Every single time when i see this kind of WiFi problem, I disable the WiFi, re-enable it, and everything works fine immediately. Why the heck cannot my wonderful smartphone do that without my manual help? Instead, it sits there not checking mails for hours, even though re-connecting to the WiFi would solve the problem. Alternatively, the mobile data connection could be used!
To be quite frank: I'm quite disappointed about this behaviour. When I look at my Jolla and do not see the yellow LED blinking, I'd like to be able to believe that I have not received e-mail recently. Instead, quite often, it means that I need to re-enable WiFi. :-(
EDIT: Also, last night the connection selection dialog kept popping up for some reason. (That dialog's right to exist is of course another question.) Apparently there was some problem when connecting to WiFi. The solution was again the same as always: Disable and enable WiFi manually.
EDIT2: To be clear: It's not only at home that i see this behaviour of jolla not recovering from error situations, so it's not connected to a specific wifi network. Also, this bug report is not about wifi errors occurring as such. Like mentioned, wifi problems can occur also just because of the laws of physics. This bug is about jolla not recovering from the networkless state, even though the actual problem is gone. Using mobile data when wifi has a problem would already easen up the situation.
check latest version i remember them fixing many WLAN problems over the years.

I think now Jolla should of course try to reconnect IF it loses connection automatically but it should not keep retrying for long time, because that would drain battery dead. Maybe jolla tries to reconnect automatically to your Wi-Fi but gives up after it cant connect?

alloj ( 2015-04-01 11:06:30 +0300 )editWell, if the Wifi connection has been broken for example for 2 hours (e-mail client shows it hasn't checked mails in 2 hours), but then it works immediately if I disable and re-enable WiFi, that suggests Jolla has not been trying to re-connect for 2 hours. It surely wouldn't drain battery if it would try to reconnect once a minute for a time-span of say 10 mins. Also, like suggested earlier, the mobile data connection could be used.
