Bug: CalDAV does not report sync errors

I noticed CalDAV sync stopped working recently. I quite quickly came to the conclusion that the reason for the failure was that I had modified a calendar entry in a non-modifiable calendar.

However, I did not get any error message at any point. I just coincidentally noticed that I didn't get new appointments to my phone anymore. Also trying to sync manually from the settings app did not cause any error message to appear.

Same thing here. I added a calendar to my ownCloud and first I thought that Jolla just doesn't sync new calendars - which is a bug itself, if so. But then I noticed that when I added some events to the existing calendar, it did not sync. I have removed my CalDav account and will try again as soon as I have time to add it back and see if the sync will be ok.

Thanks for your comment. For me sync did start working again after deleting and re-adding my CalDAV account. But just to be clear: This bug report is not about the actual sync error, but about the fact that CalDAV does not report any errors.

Yeah, added my account and it synced. It would be good to have a similar error and notification when e-mail or facebook has a login/sync error. E-mail shows the error in the cover and the app and FB pushes a notification that the account needs updating. This way user could definately see something's wrong.

Right, currently there's no UI showing last-sync status for the various adapters. It's been on Jolla's TODO list for some time. If enough people vote for it, it may get a higher priority.

@chris.adams: Because you mention UI: I don't see the need to bother any UI-designers with this. All I want is a "getEventView().newNotification("CalDAV sync failed")" - type-of-thing.
