It would be nice if any future Jolla devices had builtin temperature and possibly humidity sensors. These are appearing on more phones now and would be useful with any weather related apps etc.

This would be a good toh project using the i2c. Maybe sth for kimmoli from funkyOtherHalfs?

i2c sensor boards are readily available, and hooking them up to the Jolla via i2c is straight forward. I am currently developing a Contactless Thermometer TOH using this sensor board.

The trick is integrating them nicely with SensorFW so that they can be exposed through the qtsensors interface.

It can also help with altitude estimation from pressure sensor data if you pressure sensor does not have a thermometer built-in. :)

There are also other interesting application like a freezing alarm or a generic "temperature range reached" alarms.

I thought it would also useful for an app which used crowdsourced weather monitoring by uploading data as well as for local use.
