Using TOH ambience ringtone [answered]

Is there a way I can use the ringtone of the TOH ambiences with the ambiences I create with my images? I know the process (set my ambience as default and then change sounds), but I would like to use the sounds that come with the TOH ambiences (specifically K.black) with my own ambience. I can't seem to find a way to select the ringtones that came with it.

Sure you can! Have a look at /usr/share/ambience. Of course, you will only find sound files for ambiences you have purchased together with according TOHs.

So if you e.g. want to reuse aloe sounds, goto
/usr/share/ambience/ambience-aloe/sounds, copy them into folder
/usr/share/sounds/jolla-ringtones/stereo, et voilà!

To copy files there, use your terminal after having enabled developer mode and switched to devel-su.

If you are not comfortable using command line, simply copy it into Music or any folder beneath using e.g. File Browser from Jolla store, but then ringtones will show up in your music library, which might be rather suboptimal.

Being already on that level, copying it to Music is a bad move as they will show up in media-player - move them to the ringtone folder /usr/share/sounds/jolla-ringtones/stereo/ instead.

You're right. Edited, not to confuse.

Thanks. I am trying to copy the mp3 files to usr/share/sounds/jolla-ringtones/stereo/ but it does let me. What do I do?

You have to be devel-su to have permissions for that folder. Music would have been easier, but then you propably have to scroll a lot.

I was trying through file explorer and it kept failing. Tried cp /usr/share/ambience/ambience-black/sounds/* /usr/share/sounds/jolla-ringtones/stereo in terminal after enabling devel-su and it worked. :)
