I would have thought this was an accident caused by me, but when it happened to another Jolla on our family right after my phone, I'm guessing it's a bug.

Description: Answering a phone call normally caused automatic "call on hold" on two separate phones

Version: Phones were running on Sailfish OS 1.1.1 (Finnish UI) and 1.1.2. (English UI)

Details: Phone rings, we answered normally and put the phone on ear. Screen worked as it should (shut off) but nothing could be heard. Taking the phone off the ear, screen acts normally again (lights up) and we notice that the calls were on hold. Using pulley menu, we could return to the call and continue with it. These phone calls were received within one minute from each other (from separate numbers to separate phones), and the problem happened in both phones exactly the same way.

I have an open Request #34911 In Jolla Zendesk concerning XPERIAX going on HOLD by itself under an on-going call. This feature started after installing 3.1.0.11 Seitseminen. Jolla didn't promise a quick help to this though it's it's very halmful daily problem. Regards Simo 18.9.2019

This question is really old, I don't think it adresses the same cause.

More likely to do with the pulley menu that is available when a call is connected. I made a patch for another user to prevent the pulley menu from appearing - however, once added, it does mean that the user can no longer MUTE a call or ADD a call. Perhaps the option should be removed from the pulley menu and be placed as on screen buttons. But the proximity sensor should prevent any of this from happening, so no doubt there is a bug there as well I wouldn't be surprised to learn.

My patch can be found here and requires patchmanager 3.0 to run it;

I wish Jolla will take a note of your (Edz) patck/solution and include it the standard or fix the problem in an other way. Thanks Edz for answering. Regards Simo

No worries, it may or may not be of any help to you. I suppose there is always the possibility that the phone is doing its own thing, ghost touches, etc

Does proximity sensor works? I noticed that in the past. There are several thread about that if you want to check.

BTW I agree that your issue deserve a new or better yet other existing question.
