I am an old Nokia N900 and Nokia N9 user. With these phones, you could manually select the internet connection when selecting the option from the 'top bar menu' (But also make it work automatically if preferred)

But now, the mobile data connection is the same as on iOS and Android. It always connects automatically untill you turn off the toggles. It is also annoying that it connects to the wifi even if you don't want to make it happen automatically. (You need to turn off the wifi toggle first....)

Please at least give us an option to enable "Legacy Internet selection option" for users like me, just like in the N900 and N9.

This could be achieved in the "Notification center" (swiping from the bottom) and put it in the Pulley menu calling it "Internet connection". Once picking that option, it should show the same as on N900/N9. The available wifi and Mobile data connections (or to disable the connection that you're on)

Edit: This is the window that it should show up when selecting "Connect to Internet". So when enabling the legacy option, there is no need for the toggles.

The following screen is actually more then enough.

This is a bug caused by 'together.jolla.com'.

Refresh the page, and wait a bit, it will come up

Or maybe just list the mobile data connection at the start/end of the WiFi AP list ? I think this is how N900 does it. :)

MartinK, it's actually a true screenshot. It should be like this: Enable legacy mode = No toggles --> but Pulley menu in the Notification center "Connect to the Internet" should show that screenshot

I actually kinda like the Jolla behaviour: When an app wants Internet, it just asks me "Data or Wifi?" (no need to scroll over available Wifis, that's cool). When I want to disconnect, I just go switch off the toogle. It's quicker than on N9, you just need to have "Settings" in the apps shortcuts.

I've made a small 'app' to have this idea to work.

Please take a look at the Openrepos: http://openrepos.net/content/htheb/connect-internet

It will be also available on the Jolla store, if it will pass QA.
