Add a charger connector (Xperia style) [answered]
A defective USB connector requires soldering whithin the tablet. You will not easily find a repairshop to fix this. I have a Nokia N9 that died from that disease.
So, as inductive charging is already tagged "out-of-scope", please add a magnetic charger connector like the Sony Xperia Z phones have. You should of course not remove the possibility to charge via micro USB, but add a second route as it is with the Xperia Z2 and later.
- This will largely reduce wear of the USB connector.
- A magnetic charger connector does not nearly wear out as easily as the USB socket does.
- A dedicated charger connector does dot get infested with malware as USB connectors do (http://is.gd/qsRNNg - gizmodo article: "The NSA Is Going to Love These USB-C Charging Cables")
There is no need to add a charger featuring that magnetic link. Just add an adaptor USB-socket-to-magnet-charger.
This request is my preferred alternative to a Nokia style connector.
No offence, but I would prefer not to have any non-standard connectors on the tablet.
