swipe gestures work but not others [duplicate]

Hi,
This has been happening from a past few days. i can swipe out of any app, lock the screen using the gesture, but, when i try to touch a number to call, the phone does not responds, just vibrates. the same thing happens if i want to read an email or a message or any thing else that requires me to touch. in short, i can open and close an app. but not able to perform any task. have to restart it to start working.

Same occurred to me. I could not even reboot via screen actions. Pull-down menus were not accessible. Only the power button responded so that I finally could switch the phone off. After restart, everyhing was normal again... (up to a certain point because I had this strange behavour twice yet)
