Unsupported video format for streaming and html5 browsers

Jolla Camera app records videos in ´mp4v/h.263´ format (mp4 container, H263 format)
This format is quite outdated, and not supported by html5 browsers or common media players on for example TV's or BD-devices. This often prevents showing Jolla recorded videos on bigger screens, as converting or player supporting h.263 is needed to view them.
- test: uploaded Jolla recorded video (try with Sailfish Browser)
- formats supported by html5 browsers
- formats supported in the native Media app
I'd like to see Jolla Camera app updated to record videos in at least x264 (default on mp4 nowadays) or even newer format

Hmm , i see MPEG-4 Visual, Matrix Default H.263 in AVI vith XviD codec .. but default player not able play this file. :)

Container is Apple QuickTime.. Videorecording eat about 70% of one CPU.
Without any problem i convert video to constant 25 FPS with passthru aac sound in HandBrake to both MKV & Apple MP4.
Kaacz ( 2014-01-03 01:22:14 +0300 )editThis is just a guess, but I think that the poor audio quality on recorded video is due to active noise cancellation... At least it sounds to me like it. One could test it by completely blocking the secondary microphone...
