I have a problem with autofocus: doesn't matter which setting i choose, the square is always red and taken pics are always totally out of focus. Is there a way to reset the camera or do you have any other suggestion to solve the problem?

Open Terminal and in root type the following command;

pkcon remove jolla-camera (enter)

Once removed, reboot your Jolla.

Open Terminal again as root, type the following

pkcon install jolla-camera (enter)

Reboot your Jolla again and check if the camera's auto focus works again.

Hope this helps.

Hi Markkboy, thank you very much for your tip. Unfortunately, autofocus deasn't work yet.

Also in Infinite focus mode, both close and far objects are totally out of focus. With Tap to focus, the square remains always red, never becomes green but except this, the objects in the square area are out of focus.

The Continuous Autofocus mode doesn't work, moving the phone changing framing and taking pics from time to time, all the results are out of focus.

At this point i can't understand if could be a sw issue even if most probably is hw matter.

@gordon_pcb_designer - okay, that's rotten luck. Perhaps a total reset and then, if the problem persists, it could be considered a hw problem, off back to Jolla it goes..? (assuming you still have some warranty time left).

Same here, the focus is frozen to infinity with the 8MP camera, no matter if I set it to be continous AF, or tap AF. Tried the method above, nothing changed. I guess that's an hw issue; up to the fact that my jolla is brand new, received last week :((((((((
