I noticed at work that I had some services not running:

auditd.service error inactive dead auditd.service plymouth-start.service error inactive dead plymouth-start.service syslog.service error inactive dead syslog.service

systemctl status auditd.service auditd.service

Loaded: error (Reason: No such file or directory)
      Active: inactive (dead)

systemctl restart auditd.service Failed to issue method call: Unit

auditd.service failed to load: No such file or directory. See system logs and 'systemctl status auditd.service' for details.

systemctl restart auditd.service Failed to issue method call: Unit

auditd.service failed to load: No such file or directory. See system logs and 'systemctl status auditd.service' for details.

So no real reason why the services hasn't started.

SailfishOS is not using any of those services. Some standard systemd services are referring to those and thus those can be seen listed even those don't exists. Harmless.

still, a cleaner way would be nice (the few cycles used to find and track down nonexistant services might not be worth it)
