I've installed some Android apps like Teamviewer, but it shows as "com" on the Sailfish app drawer. There is also no icon to be seen. And running the app doesn't work.

But if you have installed any Android Launcher (like Go launcher) and try to run the app within the launcher, it DOES work. This is a bug that could be hopefully be fixed.

I've come across a few too. For example the Android app for using http://www.skyscanner.net ends up with just 'net' on the screen and no icon. It does however still work.

I installed it from the Yandex store though I think I also tried it from Amazon also.

on IRC someone mentions this is a known issue, i suspect some kind of parsing issue when trying to create an app entry

I've come across with something similar in Google Play store (which is unofficial/supported/broken?); the app installs, it can be launched from list of installed apps, but to make the icon appear one must apkd-install /data/app/com.app.name.here.apk in Terminal (no devel-su required).

As AL13N said, it's probably a parsing error where there is something strange in the app installation and it takes the 'com' in the front of the apk and gives up

I tried my own method to install TeamViewer 8 for Android, but it does the same - the launcher has no icon and its name is "com". However, the app is uninstallable via the launcher...

Same here with Google Drive and Hangouts: icon ok, app name still broken ("com"). Apps can be launched normally, though (as they did before the update).

This problem has been solved for me (SailfishOS 1.5.0.16 - 19), all android apps I installed have the right icon and name.

This may related to this question

But for me it's because the permission issue (run as devel-su):

chmod 777 -R /home/nemo/android_storage/

This worked for me. I don't know why this happend, for I never change the permission of this folder.

On Sailfish OS: 1.1.4.29
