It would better if duplicates are merged to one thread and not closed by mark as duplicate, so issues and suggestions would be better together and easier to search / read. Also it would be easier to vote up and not to be loose so much votes on same issue / case

The problem is that some threads in the whole system are not displayed by search or you get displayed sometimes 20 nearby identical but nothing pionts exactly to the problem you have. Maybe if it is not possible to merge, so could the duplicates deactivated in search
