how does text formatting here work? [answered]

I searched the faq, I went to the askbot page linked on the bottom here and looked in their faq and documentation, I even googled it. But I couldn't find any hints on how formatting text here works.
To clear this up, I'm talking about things like adding a link or going to the next line (pressing enter).
Normally I'd expect it to be like in myBB forums or maybe like on reddit but nothing seemed to work so far.

At least Markdown basics are shown when composing new question.

Prepend row with four spaces to get a code-block

*italic*
**bold**
link:[text](http://example.com/ "title")
image:![alt text](/path/img.jpg "title")
numbered list: 1. Foo 2. Bar
basic HTML tags are also supported
