Edit: FIXED. Everyone seems to be seeing a return of the currently supported functionality as of 28th May for reading and 8th of June for posting/commenting. Notifications, image sharing, calendar and image gallery are now populated, even if the account was reset during the dark times. Of course, contacts sync and chat were removed in the 1.1.4 update, so will not reappear now. Jolla have stated they are trying to come to some solution with Facebook about that.

My Facebook notifications stopped updating as of 30.04.15 on update 1.1.4.29. My last notification was three days old today, when I tried recreating the account, and now I have an empty notification feed. I get this in the journal when I do a manual sync:

Also confirmed not working:

Facebook image gallery missing
Photo sharing fails
Facebook calendar is present but empty
Status posts from the Events view fail.

There is no Facebook functionality confirmed to be working, despite the changelog for 1.1.4 stating that it now "Use(s) Facebook API 2.2".

EDIT: Updated from other users' info. Do I get a 'Tracked by Jolla' badge???

Mine stopped working (or has worked sporadically) already longer than since 30th of April. Running Yliaavanlampi.

I noticed the same. So I did the same: removed Facebook account, then re-created it.

Please check Gallery App. There I have Facebook folder missing, as well. Anyone else?

Almost forgot to mention Calendar. My Facebook calendar is present but empty.

As pointed out by @javiermon, it's been fixed at Facebook's end. In the absence of any explanation, we don't know if there was something wrong with Jolla's FB app registration or Facebook broke it.

Either way, this is the service-based model of communication we're getting sucked in to in these modern times. Hooray!

EDIT: "We've recently received approval from Facebook on our new implementation. The account should now work after a re-login."

Strange behavior today. My notification screen show me facebook notifications and Gallery app show me facebook images ;) But no contacts integration...

@schturman, they announced with 1.1.4.28 that contacts sync won't work anymore (until they find some new solution with FB, but not with this OS version anyway). So that was expected. Then we also lost photo & notification sync, which was not expected. Now with photos & notifications back, Facebook functionality is more or less "what it was supposed to be".

Well I am still on v.1.1.2.16 and my Facebook Notifications on the events screen also started to work again since today (but the fb images are still gone from gallery). :D

That's interesting, @Alex. I didn't know 1.1.2 had broken at all. Have the contacts sync and chat stopped working?

30/04/15 was when Facebook turned off the old API. seems to coincide with what you guys are seeing.

New API with reduced functionality is available with the next upgrade

Yes, we're all using the next upgrade, which says it supports version 2.2 of the Facebook API. It's not working at all.

EDIT: Clarified this in the question.

The new API has not the old functionalities. I read it in another thread or you can read it on blog.jolla.com. With the new API Facebook is nearly unusable. But it's caused by facebook not Jolla!

The Facebook integration in 1.1.4 doesn't currently have any functionality. Up until the end of April, it had everything except chat and contact sync, as described in Jolla's mail. Since 1st of May, it's all broken.
