1.1.4.29 already out? / stuck with 28 and old lake photo [answered]

Is the new release already out for everyone? Asking because I recently noticed my version got bumped to 1.1.4.28 without me doing anything and I still have the old lake photo from 1.1.2 I'm not among the early adopters, so I have no idea how that happened. There are bits and pieces of information here, but I don't know if something is really wrong or I should just wait to be offered an update (checking manually says I'm up to date). I'd appreciate any insight :)

Hi! Did you use pkcon to update something at any point? Are you on Early Adopters program? Can you use SSH / Terminal app?

I didn't use pkcon from terminal. Used Warehouse to some extent, don't know if that's related. I'm not on early adopters program. I can use ssh and terminal (have dev mode enabled) Jolla store offered me some updates a couple of days ago, but from those, only android support got updated, the rest of the jolla apps still showing up as having updates available, but time out when I try to update.

Ok, after your latest comment, let's try with these steps:

  1. Unapply all the possible patches you might have (if you had some when installing to 1.1.4.28, this might require some further actions)
  2. Remove OpenRepos "phonehook" app if you have that installed
  3. Make sure your Jolla account is active. Update the sign-in credentials if needed

run as root:

  • ssu re 1.1.4.28
  • version --dup

After these steps you should see the latest update available via settings in while. Install that before applying any patches.

maybe you mean Phonehook app, not phonebook!

AFAIK 'version --dup' does the upgrade, if everything goes perfectly, only reboot is needed. :)

I followed the procedure, rebooted after version --dup, I'm now on 1.1.4.28 (for real this time), but not being offered an update to .29. Just guessing, but... ssu re 1.1.4.29 version --dup Or is there a better way?

@okourkoulos Thanks, edited

@0rphu You can do that, but just waiting for notification or searching for an update via settings should work too, if everything is setup correctly in the 1.1.4.28 (as it should be after following the steps). However, as you are not Early Adopter, you shouldn't have received the .28 in the first place, so yeah you might just need to upgrade manually.

Well, the update came to me eventually. I'm on 1.1.4.29 now. Thanks to simo and all the others :)
