Hei there, I discovered problems with the 4G network after the last Sailfish Upgrade. I still can synchronize emails and receive calls, but ist does not send any data. I tried it with email, facebook update. Apps like google maps also report network problems. Please can you help? I already checked my mobile network settings and it looks fine. Thank you! I am based in Germany, using professional services from T-Mobile. Do you need to know anything else?

I don't know what the problem could be, but maybe that helps for now:

  1. In Jolla Store download "Sailfish-Utilities"
  2. Go to Settings / Utilities and restart network services.

I must say that since the last upgrade I also had about 3 times weird issues with mobile network connection, where the phone said it was connected, but actually wasn't. I'll keep an eye on that...

Another question: If you go to Settings / Mobile network, is there something selected under "Network mode"? After the upgrade, I had an empty field there and my phone didn't connect to 4G anymore, until I re-selected "prefer 4G". Idk if that has anything to do with your problem though.

Thank you very much, caprico.

Some of the problems could be fixed by several app-updates. I read today that there have been some API challenges with facebook for instance.

The weird thing was (and still is) that I can receive emails, but not send emails while logged into 4G networks. I am not finished with the tests. It may be correlated with specific apps like the gallery. The concrete problem was, that I could not share a photo via email with 4G, but it worked later with 3G -- after rebooting the jolla. Rebooting did not help when I had the 4G available.

Another strange thing was google maps, that told me there would be no network whilst I was able to receive emails.

Since there is no 4G network in the area where I live I only can continue watching it when I am travelling. Sailfish utilities are installed already, and the network settings look fine, too.

But I will test and try re-select "prefer 4G", even it's still selected. But software sometimes is kind of magic ;)

Thanks + have a great day!

Thank you for your kind answer :-) Ok, sounds like we're not talking about the same mobile connection problem. Yes, sadly the Facebook API changes are an issue for many 3rd party clients, including the Jolla one.

I just tested sending an email using 4G connection (with and without picture) and it worked for me. My Android apps also work well with 4G. As my knowledge in such things is limited, I can't help you further.

Have a great day as well!
