is it possible to copy a keepass .kdb file from a computer to the Jolla and use it instead of the default notes.kdb?

tried to do so but it somehow fails to open...

I used to copy my main .kdb file from my Linux box to my Android device and open it with keepass there. by copying I prevent getting two different databases

TIA

yes, ownkeepass supports keepass version 1, please make sure your keepass.kdb is exported/saved as version 1 not 2

in keepassx version 0.4.3 on Linux I only have exports to text, xml, no choices on version 1 or 2...

KeepassX 0.4.3 only supports v1 of the KDB format.

From the main page in ownkeepass you can use the top pulley menu to open an existing keepass database file (select "open database"). Choose our database with the file browser. Click on "Nothing selected yet". That opens the file browser dialog. Make sure that you have "User key file" disabled if your database does not need a key file. Otherwise choose the key file for your database. Then enter your password and accept to open the database (Tab on "Open" in the upper title bar).

Now either your database should open successfully or you should get an error message. If you got an error please post it here.

don't know if it was my n00bness, the former kdb file or the fact that ownkeepass was updated in the mean time.

what error message do you get?
check the settings of ownkeepass, it's possible to open other files (location and/or name) than default
