Actually there are only new smartphones with displays larger then 4". Mostly around 5-5,5".

The Nokia N9 is nice but old and not usable for regular using.

A new smartphone with small sizes would be nice.

<120mm height <59mm width

But with actual stuff like an actual camera modul, LTE and new SoC.

Jolla would be able to produce it, crowdfunding worked great for the tablet!

What do you think? There are a market for small smartphone?

At least, I would like something not bigger than the current Jolla phone. I would not mind a slightly thicker device, if that came with a longer battery life and maybe a better camera.

@mikelima longer battery life comes with better powersaving, better camera does not need thicker device... @dissent please have a look here https://together.jolla.com/question/19564/jolla-2nd-device-hw-suggestions/ and https://together.jolla.com/question/58493/wiki-suggestions-for-j3-a-smaller-phone/

I think the current size is very neat in usage and comfort: not too small not too big. I also think we should keep this size for TOHs, not to make these investments immediately obsolete (TOHKBD is here really critical). Better screen resolution and better battery and most would be absolutely happy. Compared to the Samsung S5 Mini it is almost exactly the same size so I think there are enough potential customers for that size.

@chemist better poersaving only goes so far - I don't care that much if the phone can keep 1 week of charge if I am not using it... I want a phone that I can keep in active use for longer time. for example I currently use the phone often as a wifi hotspot for my tablet or laptop. This will consume power quite fast.

A slightly thicker phone could accomodate a larger battery and a better camera. I am not talking much, but a couple of millimeters will not be noticeable in the pocket, and could double battery life easily. They could allow also better optics for the camera.

And they would actually make the phone more rigid. The trend towards thinner and thinner phones is fashion based, it made kind of sense some time ago when phones were kind of bulky... Now it the trend is in the way of better overall usability.
