Hello Sailors and Jolla team,

i was shortly be aware about a nice bluetooth keyboard which have an invisible touchpad. Really compact and practicable, and for me is definitively a really fine accessory for the tablet (and maybe the phone). Here give a look the the indiegogo campaign of Moky. And website

Seems to be an Generic HID Keyboard which is already on the todo list of the jolla developer. But the mouse part is on this case is unknown (unclear). Here is a raw requirement for BT Mouse. Nothing is developed about pointer or gesture.

What do you think about it?
Campaign is on the way and goal is now done. more than 200% reached in one week
Now the question is on the multi-nation keyboard layouts. Currently it has just the english one. But if there is enough people interested for other layouts(~100 device per layout type), they are ready to do something for it.

Would you be interested on it too, and support to fund it?

9.6.2015 updated: Goal stretched for The multi-pairing feature... (I think that is a really important function for such a device)

Have a good sail.

PS: Please don't close this thread until the mouse/touchpad support issue not cleary clarified.

PS: project was engaged since 2011.
Was already 3 prototypes done. And delivery date is October 2015. so really soon.
4 years for making it mature, is enough. Should not be too much delay risks (expect for production).

is this wholly relevant to Jolla users?

@Markkyboy maybe. for me yes. And i think for a lots of people too indirectly...
the background purpose of it, is making the Keyboard and mouse interface priority higher. Currently this is really in an deep level. That's why there is references to these interfaces If people have more interest on such a device, then the priority will increase by logic entropy. That is a kind of "catalysator". do you know what i mean?

such a device is currently not supported, so far i read here until now . I want to press a little more. Sorry for the good jolla guys in development...

Okay, cool, just wondered. I guess the votes will determine the interest.

i think no vote is for "no interest" and downvote is something more like, maybe little a bit aggressive and demonstrative against it... i don't know. wait and see...

Generic HID keyboard support is beeing worked on, currently there is no ETA on when it will be released.

If above keyboard uses BT HID profile, then most likely the keyevents will work (but as UX is not using mouse events, then the mouse events might just be exposed as seperate HID mouse event device). At least when I tested OTG HID keyboards with touchpad they were exposed as 2 seperate event devices.

@rainisto what is for you a generic HID keyboard?
Does it have a mouse/touchpad function too?
Currently that is for me not a generic keyboard, because a generic keyboard has just keyboard functions. Nothing about mouse or touchpad one.

Well mouse event device is most likely exposed on kernel level, but as UX currently does not use mouse, then it doesn't do much on the UI. But of course you could develop application in openrepos that reads the mouse device to perform custom functionality.

@rainisto haha wrong answer, regards of this thread i find your action a little bit displaced. We know that some device of this type will be supported. No idea about a list of it. But if it is so, why push the people to make their own thing, when the most of the time they can't do it and the hardware type is near of common!. :-(

cemoi71 ( 2015-06-03 16:43:44 +0300 )edit

@rainisto first i never told that is a duplicate.
The link that i sent is for generic keyboards.
You seems to still finding that this one is a generic keyboard.
And you never explain, what does this one as a generic one. Your answer was confuse until know.
Give me concretely why is it a generic hardware that is on your requirement list fully supported.
Sorry reopened.

know how question: does support this protocol a joined mouse? or it is exclusive for keyboard and mouse is apart?
