Hi,

i noticed that after deleting apps, their data remains. when i installed some apps i removed months ago their data (for example: set situations, or old inputs from the my money app) was still there. is there a way to delete the apps with their data completely? or why is it that when i want to remove an app,its whole cache and data still remains. that is filling the memory without really knowing about.

Yup. So feature request: an option to remove them when uninstalling an app.

This is not a bug :) this is current intended behaviour. As pointed out this runtime data is not part of the rpm package which installs the application and there for does not get removed automatically.

Expectations can be for or against. It's hard to say what is correct. I would imagine user being mad if a year worth of notes is lost on re-install?!

It's a known issue and we are already working on tools for data/file house-keeping. We also already discussed the option for data removal during uninstallation. But it is a little difficult to find the correct data, for harbour apps we require certain paths to be used so that is doable, but e.g. an openrepo app can put it's data anywhere and might not even follow the "XDG Base Directory Specification"!

Appdata isn't inclued in rpm spec (as any other pkg system), Jolla needs to extend this data.

You can use file browser and delete appdata from home/nemo/.local/share/<app name>.

do bin have to delete the whole app folder or just some files within?

@Dragomir The whole folder is okay. No need to keep anything.

You don't need to use Developer Mode/Terminal to delete this stuff.

Anything in the home folder in most cases can simply be deleted, by using File Browser, FileTug or any system browser. Not everyone likes using Developer Mode.
