Hi,

Currently, there is a 5 seconds delay when deleting an item (mail, image...). I didn't find any way to accelerate that action, and if the corresponding application is closed in the meantime, the delete won't be actually done.

Could we find a way to make it more efficient ? Maybe an option to disable this 5-seconds delay would be a start, even if it introduces some more risk of mis-usage. Or maybe a swipe-to-left would acknowledge the deletion, and a swipe-to-right would cancel it.

Any idea is welcome :)

Or use " Choose Emails" from the pull down menu ?

I like the swipe idea. I'm annoyed that I can't accelerate the five second delay and during that time I'm worried I might touch it and undo the delete and have to do it again. Also, and I guess this is something to get used to, it's unnatural for me to leave a view with an unfinished action.

@flywheel: it doesn't matter if it's one or many emails that are selected. The action is still not complete until the countdown is done and if the application is closed before that the email(s) is(are) not deleted.

@Tofe: could you make your suggestion an answer instead so one can vote on it.

@Mohjive - there might not be a huge difference in 205 secs and 15 secs in waiting when deleting 20 posts, to you.

Just continue as usual and ignore the 5 seconds remorse timer. You may do anything you like as long as you don't close the application (switching to another app is fine). Moving back a page will not cancel the delete operation either (it will make it perform immediately).

Wouldn't it be possible to perform pending delete operations upon the close of an application, like it is done when moving back a page? Otherwise it would mean I'll always have to be careful when closing an application, especially if I triggered some deletions just before.

Suggestion:

  1. A swipe-to-left would acknowledge the deletion, and a swipe-to-right would cancel it.
  2. Closing an application automatically acknowledges all the deletions that are in-progress
