Hello sailors, hello jolla people.

first let me to tell you, that until last week, i had to to recharge my battery every 4 days. Had the sfos 1.1.4.29, and my apps and configuration. Everythings works fine (battery side).

Then at the end of last week I wanted to try the app situation, and made with it a profile on basis of gps-position. And this point, we should activate the option "faster position fix" or i don't how is it called. Then within an half day, goes my phone battery completely drained, went down.

I deleted then the situation profile with gps localisation. Then it goes better, i had then 2 days autonomy more again. But still not like before. Then it's still difficult to charge it.

Now i make this option deactivated and it get really better. That is the same with sfos 1.1.6.27...

I don't know if it is a bug, or a real problem. if it's normal.(that's why currently don't give some tags). But for me it is not. Going from 4 days autonomy to 1,5, is hard. And there no further options to configure the interface precisely (i don't if it make sense or possible).

It would be fine if the jolla and other dev, could give a look deeper inside.

Have a good sails

By the way which apps and how often do you use to reach 4 days autonomy?

From your description it seems to be a bug with Situations. BTW I like that tag of yours, "strange". ;)

@lakutalo, maybe. but found really strange that just this option of faster position fix, still drain a lot battery without to be used.

@lakutalo can't give the tag bug, because i don't know where is the problem. On jolla side or situations... don't want to pull a rocket to the jolla side, with a blockbuster-thread... ;-)

So you now have an app that runs continously and uses the GPS? So yes it is expected you use more battery as the GPS is active and the device does not get to sleep as often. More HW in use + less sleeping => bigger drain.

Otoh you are still using GPS but without the assistance? Because this is not clear at all. From what you describe it sounds more like a GPS on/off situation.

nono hat the end the app don't work anymore with the gps. but gps drain really with this function. Is my description some confusion?

@Philippe De Swert i make the last action in bold. is it not clear enough? please tell me what is unclear. i think it is clear enough, step per step. maybe my English is bad. please take more time to read.

made a little change now

Ok let's go at this step by step.

  1. install an app (is this called situation? Android/native?)
  2. Turn on "faster position fix" (only that option right?)
  3. Use app and battery drains fast
  4. Turn off "faster position fix"
  5. App does not work anymore? Not used?
  6. Power drain gone?

If the app stops working or is not used anymore I would expect the GPS is shut down and the power drain goes away.

I do understand this : "nono hat the end the app don't work anymore with the gps" As: The app stops using GPS. => less drain due to GPS off.

Ok for me no app use it. i definitively delete the situations profiles i turn the position on. and it suck. the phone is plugged on usb power plug (more than 500mA). then battery goes down too.

I don't know if an other app use it. there no rule per interfaces, and no app tell wish other app need an interface... :-(
