Hi there,

yesterday I tried to update my Jolla phone. I downloaded the update 1.1.6.27, which worked fine. Then it told me, that there was not enough space and that I should free at least 500 MB disk space. So I used the Space Inspector app and deleted some big files (audible audiobooks). Then i tried to run the update which failed whith the message "problem with store". So I tried:

  • Delete the file /home/nemo/.cache/store-client/os-info
  • Stop the store-client process (for e.g. pkill store-client)
  • Reopen Settings app, check for updates again and attempt to install the OS update again

I should mention that I used the Share space with Android How-To some time ago.

Today I recognized that Productinformation is still saying, that disk space is completely used. btrfs shows

btrfs fi show
ERROR: unable get label Inappropriate ioctl for device
Label: none uuid: d2a8ccde-3818-4a79-870c-63ce8f047f82
Total devices 1 FS bytes used 7.30GiB
    devid 1 size 29.55GiB used 14.04GiB path /dev/mmcblk1

Label: 'sailfish' uuid: 4b9a7c4f-83c2-49be-b2b7-6fe67cc12eae
Total devices 1 FS bytes used 13.12GiB
    devid 1 size 13.75GiB used 13.75GiB path /dev/mmcblk0p28

Btrfs v3.16

So the phone space seems to be completely used? Does the share not work correctly? The files I deleted didn't disappear?

There is still the notification, that update 1.1.6.27 is available, but when I open the update settings now, it seems that it can't retrieve all informations. The top, where was an image before, is just a blank space and where the version number was written, it now just says "Version". I can use the pulley menu for update check and download, but they don't do anything.

I would be very grateful if anyone could help.

Greets Dave

Hi Dave, this site talks about Sailfish file system cleanup: http://reviewjolla.blogspot.de/2015/02/step-by-step-guide-jolla-phone.html Although they say that part of the process is automated in 1.1.4.29 it may be worth looking at. I did not test or use it, but it might help. Good luck! Gnarzl

Okay, I will try. It might help, but for me, it doesn't seem to be just a space problem (Missing picture and version number). But nevertheless it's worth a try. I'm on a trip 'til next week. I will post the results here.

Unfortunately the provided link didn't help. Don't know what to do, btrfs fi show still shows a complete used space on the sailfish device, but deleting files does not affect it. Anyone else an idea what to do? Factory reset is the last option.

Hi everyone,

I managed to solve my space issues. Somehow the share did not work and files were stored on the phone and on the sdcard but were only deleted on the sdcard. I backuped all my files and simply tried to remove the sdcard and then delete the sdcard folder the phone was linking to. And guess what, it worked :-D Though I probably need to check why the share did not work and if this is gonna be a problem in the future again.

I also solved the update problem. The GUI Update process still didn't work, but I was able to update the phone by using the following commands:

pkcon refresh
pkcon update
pkcon install sailfish-version
version --dup
reboot

Now the update GUI shows the correct version and the image at the top of the screen is back.

Bye Dave
