How to edit bookmarks in browser? [released]

Sometimes I need to change an existing bookmark in the browser. Usually this happens when a site supports special parameters (for auto-login or other features) that do no longer show up as part of the URL when the site is rendered and I hit the star-icon in the browser. But there are other use cases as well.

I didn't find anything in the UI, so my question is: Are those bookmarks stored in the file system somewhere so they can easily be edited? If so, where?

Browser's bookmarks are stored as json-file in /home/nemo/.local/share/org.sailfishos/sailfish-browser/bookmarks.json

Rebooting browser is required after bookmarks have been modified

Great! It works (tried it right away) and will save me a lot of typing in the future! Thank you!

That's nice but are there any plans to implement editing in the GUI also?

Edit bookmarks should be available in the UI when long pressing the bookmark item... It doesn't need to be too complicated, just to edit the url and name of the bookmark.

I am reopening the question. I don't consider the answer complete here if it requires a common user task to be performed in terminal/developer mode. It is one possible, valid answer, but not for every user. A simple device for editing and rearranging bookmarks should be provided in the GUI. Where that is not (yet) available, that's what the answer should be - ideally with an estimate from Jolla - or in this case any developer who has plans for looking into it, since the Sailbro is open source - when we might expect it to come .
