WLAN settings are empty, and WLAN cannot be enabled

After the latest update, WLAN settings are empty, and WLAN cannot be enabled. Is there any way to re-enable WLAN without a factory reset?

Thank you.

Did you try after reboot?

Yes, multiple times. No difference.

Sailfish Utilities has an option to 'Restart network connections', this app can be found in Jolla Store. Once installed, you'll find it under Settings/System, scroll down and look for 'Utilities'. (I'm assuming you can connect to the net via SIM services).

Tried it, doesn't work either. :( (thanks for the suggestion though, I was not aware of this app and will keep it.)

Sounds like something might have gone wrong with your update.

  1. Check if the wireless lan module is correctly loaded (which is conviently named wlan). You'll have to enable developer mode, open the terminal. Type in devel-su, followed by the password and then lsmod.
  2. If it is correctly loaded we would need your kernel log
  3. If not you might need to re-install the kernel module package

OK, I know nothing about this stuff, so I'm going to need a more step-by-step guide. I enabled developer mode, typed devel-su, typed the password when prompted, and then typed lsmod. The result of lsmod was a line with the following words: Module Size Used by

I think I may be missing something (which is probably obvious to everybody else, but...)

@annafromathens: You did very well already. Normally you should see some more lines, so clearly the module for the wlan is not loaded. So there is probably a mismatch between the kernel and its module. I'll look up the runes for getting those reinstalled and will get back to you.

Sorry for the delay. Hopefully this works as the earlier stuff after devel-su in the terminal (developer mode)

# pkcon install kernel-adaptation-sbj

Tried it, and it gave me some lines of "downloading" and "installing" and then the prompt flashed again without any further confirmation. I closed the terminal, wlan settings still not enabled. Tried restart, and still nothing. I'm afraid I'm simply going to have to make a list of all my apps and go for factory reset.
